About This Project
The South Surrey Recreation Centre Addition adds on 22,000 sf of Arts and Fitness expansion. This includes a new entrance and lobby connecting the existing facility and the expansion. A new arts plaza at the north end of the expansion connects the new fitness and arts areas. The expansion includes a 9,000 sf weight room, multipurpose studios for arts and fitness, child minding facilities, and administration offices, to supplement the existing gyms, classrooms and youth facilities at the centre. This project was awarded the 2014 Surrey New City Design Award of Excellence -Best Renovation and Adaptive Reuse, the 2014 Surrey New Design Award of Excellence – Best Interiors, and the 2014 FVREB Award of Excellence- Best Community Recreation Project.
