Heatherbrae acted as the Construction Managers for the seismically sound Fairey Tech education wing to Victoria High School. The original 1876 school has developed one of the most sought after high schools on the island for students pursuing a career in the trades.  Work consisted of an energy efficient structure of steel, glu-lams beams and concrete floors.  The new addition boasts a student concourse, new entry and four shops and teaching spaces, exposing Vic High students to a broad range of Industrial Education programs. It also provides the community with a new plaza and basketball courts.

The Victoria High School Fairey Tech Replacement project consisted of three phases: the deconstruction of the existing 50,000 sq.ft. Fairey Technical Building; construction of a 15,000 sq.ft. addition; and interior renovations and upgrades to 16,000 sq.ft.in the main building.

Due to the organization and detailed planning sessions between the School District and Heatherbrae, the project was able to go through multiple stages of construction without disrupting the school year. The project was planned through two summers allowing the reconstruction of the existing spaces to be completed, as well as accommodating the school district staff to allow them time to set up the classrooms and prepare the school for the new year.
